Iyengar Yoga, 4-week series

Over the 4 classes, there will be a progression of practice and learning through all of the asana groups: standing, seated, forward and backward extensions, inversions. Each class will focus on the dynamic actions particular to each asana group. From week to week students will explore the “actions” as building blocks that connect asanas, from simple to more complex.
Week 1: Actions of Standing Asanas / Utthistha Sthiti
Week 2: Actions of Forward Extensions / Paschima Pratana Sthiti
Week 3: Actions of Backward Extensions / Purva Pratana Sthiti and Inversions / Viparita Sthiti
Week 4: Restorative practice / Visranta Karanta and Pranayama
